It can be overwhelming to start card making. Do I need all these supplies? No, grow your collection over time!
You only need a few items — paper, adhesive, scissors, sentiment stamp and ink.

Simple

  • 8 1/2″ x 11 sheet of heavy card stock, cut in half
  • Decorative paper cut to a piece smaller than 5 1/2″ x 4 1/4″
  • Sentiment stamp, such as Happy Birthday, Thank You, Thinking of You
  • Address the envelope and mail it to someone!

Fancy

  • Start with a simple card, but add another layer
  • Include some embellishment such as ribbon, sequins, or enamel dots
  • Dry embossing the sentiment for boldness
  • Add stickers or ephemera, see video about cards using ephemera

Over the Top

  • Embossing folders
  • Cut shapes using Dies
  • Paint images using Watercolors
  • Distress Oxide inks for distressing background
  • See my video for Bench Fold Card

Organizing Cards

  • Have a list of birthdays for the year
  • Store by month, possibly with list of addresses & stamps
  • Sort cards by occasions — Birthday, Thanks, Sorry, General
