Bench Pillow Kits

My mom was in town last week and we went shopping at a local quilt store, called Red Rooster, in Dublin, Ohio. Found this cute idea for a pillow that goes on a bench in my foyer. If I get them made!

Bench Pillows

Falling for You — Designed by Heather Peterson of Anka’s Treasures. See her YouTube Channel called “Anka’s Treasures“. Looks like she mainly makes table runners on her channel. Here’s her website. She has very colorful sets of fabric for sale.

Spring Fling — Designed by Amy Smart of Diary of a Quilter. She also has a YouTube Channel called “Amy Smart“, but nothing has recently been posted. Here’s her website with lots of cute ideas and fun patterns.

The Monthly Kits include the pattern and the fabric for the pillow top and binding. Mine cost me $39.99. Here is a link to the Kits at Red Rooster, I believe they will ship it to you.

The finished Bench Pillow size is 16 x 38 inches. Riley Blake Designs published it but I do not see it for sale on their website.

I see these online by another designer. Search to see what you can find in your area.

Supplies Needed

I need to find the pillow for this too! So I searched for a pillow form sized 15×38 or so. It’s hard to find one for a decent price.

Found this at JoAnn Fabrics. Currently on sale. It’s not for sale at stores in Columbus, Ohio, so I will have to order online. You need an order over $75 for free shipping. I’ll wait until I have other stuff to order.

Finding Patterns

There are probably other patterns around this 16 x 38″-sized pillow cover. I searched and found that Missouri Star Quilt Company carries a pattern book (link) that looks like fun! Another site that makes patterns is Annie’s Crafts (link). Here’s a link to the Chickens! OMG!

I like the idea of finding patterns, but I liked buying the kit with all the fun colors included. I’ll see after I make it if I think I can use my fabrics to make one.

It looks really cute on a bench, but look at this fun idea — use it as a bed pillow! See Annie’s website for more ideas. You can find body pillows for cheaper, but you would have to make the pattern longer to fit. Not sure if you can cut the body pillow and remove some length or not.

Amazon Affiliate Links

Here is a 16″ x 38″ pillow insert that I found on Amazon. They seem pricey at this size. Found one that is 14″ x 36″ but I’m not sure if that is large enough. I’ve heard that you want the insert to be a little bigger so it fills out.

If you use my link, I make a few pennies at no additional cost to you. Thank you!
