I love my Canon Selphy printer for printing great 4×6 photos for my scrapbook layouts. There are a few ways to connect to the device. Let me show you how.

Many Ways to Connect
I often print directly from my computer and send photos to the Canon Selphy CP1300 printer just like my large HP 8.5×11 printer. In this case, I turn on the device and have the little printer connect to my home WIFI. But using your phone takes a non-intuitive way to connect. You can also simply insert your memory card into the slot near the paper tray opening in front of the printer. If all else fails, use this method!
Setup the Printer
- Turn on the printer
- Load ink, if necessary
- Load paper tray with 4×6 Canon paper
- Press the “WIFI” button on the top of the printer
- Select Direct Connection, see screenshots below
Note: If it does not have the option to Direct Connect, then turn off the printer and restart it
From the Phone
- Install Canon Selphy App
- Install Selphy Photo Layout App
- Disconnect from any current WIFI connection
- Now on WIFI, select the CP1300 printer with your printer’s name

Using the Selphy Phone App
Now you should be ready to print! Open the Canon PRINT app. This should automatically connect to your Canon Selphy if it is turned on. Use “Photo Print” option to select your photos to print.

If you want to create a collage, then use the option “SELPHY Photo Layout”. This is an additional download. The app is called “SELPHY Photo Layout. Download, then use it from the Canon Selphy app.
